The pyramid of our strategy – Our J&J IM, Biologics strategic direction is represented as a pyramid, and right at the top, our purpose – strong, enduring, and guiding us forward. But just like any pyramid, it relies on a strong and sturdy base to uphold it. This comes in the form of our strategy and fundamentals.


Onze strategische richting voor onze site is gebaseerd op vier pijlers, die elk blijven doorgroeien:

  • J&J Innovative Medicine, Biologics is envisioned to be a Center of Excellence for the Continuous Perfusion of Biotherapeutics. We produce 70% of the global Remicade, Simponi and Stelara volume in Leiden
  • We are earmarked as a launch and grow site for small scale Fed-batch biological therapies. The recent sourcing decision for new products like KLK2xCD3 and CD20xCD28 are a result of this strategy.
  • For Advanced Therapeutics, we are playing a key role for lentiviral vector, where we will produce both clinical and commercial Lenti Viral Vector in Sassenheim.
  • Last but not least, both for Biologics and Advanced Therapeutics, our site is a strategic testing site, with our Leiden labs a part of the global QC Network hub.
